Dr. Kalmar joined the Podiatry Department in 2003 and brought with her exceptional listening and diagnostic skills which allow her to provide compassionate as well as state-of-the-art podiatric care to patients ranging from newborn to the octogenarian and beyond. She utilizes both conservative and surgical approaches for a variety of foot problems such as club foot, Achilles tendon rupture, plantar fasciitis, bunions, diabetic foot care, heel pain and hammer toes and has a special interest in sports related foot problems.
Dr. Kalmar graduated with honors from The University of Wisconsin while serving in the U.S. Army Reserves, earning medals for her support work during Operation Desert Storm. After receiving her DPM degree from the Dr. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine in 1999, she completed a 3 year surgical residency at the Veterans Administration Chicago Healthcare Systems, during which she spoke at several national conferences on the latest podiatric procedures and research. She is married, has two children, and enjoys reading and exercise.
Dr. Kalmar is a member of both local and national podiatric medical societies, and is affiliated with the Good Samaritan Hospital, Hinsdale Hospital, Surgical Center for Dupage Medical Group, Center for Surgery, Loyola Ambulatory Surgery Center and Midwest Center for Day Surgery.
